Nordic market leader BankID BankAxept is acquiring Danish challenger Criipto to create a stronger European position and add a unique product platform to their portfolio. Criipto will remain an independent company to ensure speed and innovation, supported by a solid new backing.
Criipto and BankID BankAxept have a history of collaboration, including the secure distribution of BankID with biometrics in Norway. This acquisition represents a strategic and cultural fit, with BankID BankAxept offering market solidity and leadership in Norway, while Criipto provides speed, innovation, and a developer-friendly platform.
“We expect to strengthen our position with BankID BankAxept as our owners. They are competent buyers who know us and our products, and we share ambitions for the future.
